Why this exists?

Across South Yorkshire, decisions about housing, health, services, safety and fairness are often made without fully understanding what people are living through every day.

This initiative has been created specifically to support marginalised and underrepresented communities whose voices are often overlooked.

We are creating a safe and respectful space for people to share real lived experience so that community knowledge can help shape better decisions.

This is about dignity.

This is about trust.

This is about influence.

Our Philosophy

A Community
First Approach

This work is about listening properly.

Not

  • Rushing people.
  • Speaking for them.
  • Collecting information that disappears into reports.

Instead

People can share in their own words, at their own pace, in the way that feels comfortable.

  • Some prefer writing.
  • Some prefer speaking.
  • Some prefer to stay anonymous.

All of those choices are respected.

Who This Is For

This opportunity is open to adults across South Yorkshire, especially those from marginalised or underrepresented backgrounds.

  • Ethnic, Cultural & Marginalised Communities
  • Disabled People
  • LGBTQ+ Communities
  • Students
  • Workers
  • Professionals, Carers, Parents & Residents
